Engineering Students Win International Robotics Competition

A team of five engineering students has claimed first place at the International Robotics Challenge held in Tokyo, competing against 120 teams from universities worldwide.

Their autonomous rescue robot, designed to navigate disaster scenarios, impressed judges with its innovative sensor array and adaptive movement system. The team spent 14 months developing their robot, which uses a combination of LiDAR, thermal imaging, and AI-powered decision making to locate and assist victims in simulated earthquake environments.

"We're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished," said team captain Maria Chen. "This project taught us that engineering is about solving real problems that affect real people."

The robot successfully completed all challenge stages in record time, earning perfect scores in navigation and victim identification categories.
